Non-physician health and human services providers are in a unique position to offer support and counseling to clients living with Hepatitis C. The goal of this 90-minute webinar is to help providers understand the HCV screening process and recognize key considerations for HCV diagnosis and care.

 

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Counsel clients about the importance of knowing their HCV status.
  • Describe the HCV screening algorithm and the two-step process of testing.
  • Outline the course of HCV disease progression.
  • Identify three alcohol reduction strategies.
  • Describe the benefits of HCV diagnosis and care.

Audience: Non-physician health and human services providers.

Prerequisite: None. It is recommended that participants previously attended “Hepatitis C Overview: What Service Providers Need to Know.”

  • Describe the progress made in treatment options for people living with Hepatitis C
  • Define sustained virologic response (SVR).
  • Identify strategies to support clients as they prepare for and engage in HCV treatment
